Chris has worked alongside athletes and coaches to ensure players are provided adequate medical treatment and supervision both in and out of season. As a student athletic trainer, Chris had the opportunity to work directly with the University of Georgia Football Team, Men’s Basketball and both the Men’s & Women’s Track Team. Post-undergrad, Chris worked as South Gwinnett High School’s full-time Certified Athletic Trainer – where his responsibilities ranged from developing rehabilitation programs for his student athletes, to employing protocols to ensure safety of student athletes during play, and manage communication of treatment plans cohesively with student-athletes, their parents, coaches and physicians.
More recently, Chris completed his Certified Physician Assistant degree from the University of Alabama Birmingham. Since becoming a Board Certified Physician Assistant, Chris has worked both in the operating room as a surgical assist and in the clinic, where he provides both orthopedic and sports medicine based evaluation and care. His experience in both the OR and clinic has been valuable to providing pre and post surgical patients with well-versed expectations of their procedures and continued care thereafter.
By coupling his experiences as both a Certified Athletic Trainer and Physician Assistant Chris offers a breadth of knowledge to Sports Medicine patients of all ages, backgrounds and demographics. As a part of Sports Medicine South, Chris assists in providing team medical coverage to several of our 9 local high schools and GHSA athletes during games and tournaments.
